• Check the DTC memory of the transmission control module (J217) before troubleshooting .

• Check also the DTC memory of the engine control module because errors from the engine control module can lead to transmission malfunction .

• Check the ATF level before checking the DTC memory.

• For troubleshooting, use guided fault finding .

ATF, Leaking in Transmission Bell Housing

If ATF flows out at underside of transmission bell housing, input shaft seal and/or ATF breather pipe may be leaking. Determine the actual cause before replacing parts. Refer to => [ ATF Breather Pipe ] ATF Breather Pipe.

• If ATF flows out of the control hole behind the ATF-breather pipe - A - in the height of the bolt - B -, the transmission is faulty and must be replaced.
