Driver Seat Belt Switch E24

• The Driver Seat Belt Switch (E24) is a component of the seat belt latch and can only be replaced with it. Refer to => [ Power and Manual Seat Belt Latch ] Service and Repair.

Front Passenger Seat Occupant Sensor G128

• The front passenger seat occupied sensor (G128) is only installed in the passenger seat.

• The bucket seat in the Audi R8 does not have seat occupied recognition.

Removal

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

- Remove passenger seat:

• Manual seats, refer to => [ Seat ] Manual Seats.

• Power seats, refer to => [ Seat ] Power Seats.

- Secure the seat to the (VAS 6136) => [ Installing Seat On VAS 6136 ] Installing Seat on VAS 6136.

- Remove cover and upholstery from seat pan. Refer to => [ Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery ] Seat Covers and Upholstery.

- Disconnect cover from upholstery. Refer to => [ Seat Pan Cover, Separating from Upholstery ] Seat Covers and Upholstery.

• Remove padding only until Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) - 2 - has been freed up!





- Disconnect the front passenger seat occupied sensor Front Passenger Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) connector - item 2 -.

- Carefully loosen the Front Passenger Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) from the upholstery - 1 -.

Installation

Installation is in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Position circuit board - 4 - from the front passenger seat occupied sensor Front Passenger Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) - item 2 - in the opening - 3 - in the seat upholstery- 1 -.

- Align the Front Passenger Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) on the upholstery as shown in the illustration.

CAUTION!
The new Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) should be installed in the same location on the seat upholstery as the old seat occupied sensor.

- Remove the protective film and bond the Front Passenger Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) firmly to the upholstery.

• Ensure Front Passenger's Seat Occupied Sensor (G128) is not covered by seat heater element heating coils.
