- Start the engine and let it run at idle.

- Seal the tailpipes, for example, with a cloth or a plug, for the duration of the leak test.

- Check the connection points between the cylinder head/exhaust manifold and exhaust manifold/muffler for leaks by listening.

- Repair detected leaks.
