Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensors

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Release Tool f/ Rev. Light Switch Conn. (T40138)

Removing

- Install the protective body covers. Refer to => [ Protective Body Covers, Installing ] Procedures.

- Remove the affected intake manifold lower section. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Lower Section, with Fuel Rail ] Intake Manifold, Lower Section, With Fuel Rail.

- Disconnect the affected connector:

- Disconnect the connector using the (T40138).





1. Knock sensor 4 (G199)

2. Knock sensor 3 (G198)

3. Knock sensor 1 (G61)

4. Knock sensor 2 (G66)

5 Knock sensor 1 (G61) connector (orange)
6 Knock sensor 2 (G66) connector (green)
7 Knock sensor 4 (G199) connector (gray)
8 Knock sensor 3 (G198) connector (brown)

- Remove the knock sensor.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Ignition Assembly Overview ] Ignition Assembly Overview

- Install the lower intake manifold section. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold, Lower Section, with Fuel Rail ] Intake Manifold, Lower Section, With Fuel Rail.
