Tunnel Side Trim






Tunnel Side Trim

The tunnel side trim panel can only be removed and installed with the seat removed.

Removal and installation is the same on the driver and passenger seat.

Removal





CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Remove seat:

Manual seats, refer to => [ Seat ] Manual Seats.

Power seat => [ Seat ] Power Seats.

- Secure the seat on the (VAS 6136), refer to => [ Installing Seat On VAS 6136 ] Installing Seat on VAS 6136.

- Remove the expanding rivets - 1 - for the tunnel side trim - 2 -.

- Remove the seat belt latch - 3 -, refer to => [ Power and Manual Seat Belt Latch ] Service and Repair.





- Remove the bolt - 2 -.

- Remove tunnel side trim panel - 1 - upward.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

- Switch on ignition.

CAUTION!
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and checked again.
