Right Exhaust Pipe with Catalytic Converter
Removing
• During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.
- Remove the rear engine cover - top arrows -.
- Free up the line - 1 - to the EVAP canister.
- Remove the vacuum hose - 2 - from the air guide hose.
- Remove the air guide pipe by loosening the hose clamp - 3 - and opening the clips - arrows -.
• Ignore - 4 -.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 - for the Oxygen Sensor (O2S) Behind Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) (G130) and free up the electrical wire.
• Ignore - 1 -.
- Remove nut - 2 - accessible from above from front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold connection.
• To provide a better illustration, component location is shown from behind with engine removed.
- Remove the right front wheel.
• Secure the brake disc with a wheel bolt.
- Remove noise insulation.
- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the front transverse beam.
CAUTION!
Danger of damaging the decoupling element.
• Decoupling element must not be bent more than 10°.
• Do not load decoupling element on cable.
• Do not damage wire mesh at decoupling element.
- Remove the bolts - 2 - on the rear bracket for the exhaust system.
• Ignore - 1 and 3 -.
- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - (accessible from the bottom) from front exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold connection.
• To provide a better illustration, component location is shown from behind with engine removed.
- Loosen the right clamping sleeve - 2 - and push it rearward.
- Remove the right front muffler together with the catalytic converter.
• Ignore - 1 -.
Installing
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Muffler Assembly Overview ] Muffler Assembly Overview.
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
• Replace seals and self-locking nuts.
• Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model.
• During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.
• Electrical wire of oxygen sensor must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.
- Install the front transverse beam and noise insulation.
- Install exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Service and Repair.
