Condition
^ MIL on.
^ DTC P0455 is stored in ECM memory.
^ Upon visual inspection, the seal on the fuel cap is found to be out of position or missing.
Technical Background
When removing the fuel cap, the seal may stick to the filler neck. The seal may be pulled out of position or removed completely from the cap.
DTC P0455 is set because the cap does not seal properly.
Production Solution
A production solution is in development.
Service
1. Ensure the seal has not been damaged or pinched by being out of position. Replace the seal if damaged.
2. Apply a thin coat of Krytox lubricant to the seal and its mating surface on the filler neck.
