Selector Lever Handle, Selector Mechanism Cover and Tiptronic Switch Assembly Overview

• Lubricate bearing areas and slide surfaces with polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2).





1 Masking panel guide

• Pry out both halves of retaining tabs to disconnect => [ Tiptronic Switch ] Service and Repair

2 Cover strip

• With solenoid for Tiptronic Switch (F189) on transverse slide

• Removing and installing => [ Tiptronic Switch ] Service and Repair

3 Frame with circuit board

• Can only be replaced as complete unit

• With integrated Tiptronic Switch (F189)

• With symbol illumination switches

• If switches malfunction, first check whether respective solenoid is secured correctly to the cover strip => [ (Item 2) Cover strip ] , replace cover strip if necessary

• Circuit board can be checked using the VAS 5051/5052 "Guided Fault Finding" Function

• Removing and installing => [ Tiptronic Switch ] Service and Repair

• Before replacing circuit board when DTC "18161" is entered in DTC memory, first check adjustment of selector lever cable => [ Selector Lever Cable, Checking and Adjusting ] Procedures

4 Selector lever handle

• Removing and installing => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle

5 Selector lever sleeve

• Removing and installing => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle

6 Cover molding with symbol panel

• Removing and installing => [ Tiptronic Switch ] Service and Repair

7 Symbol illumination switch solenoid

8 Tiptronic recognition switch solenoid
