Shift Mechanism Assembly Overview

• Lubricate the bearing areas and slide surfaces with polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2).





1 Rubber seal

2 Press tube

• Placed on the shift mechanism and attached with bolts => [ (Item 3) Bolt, 2 Nm ]

3 Bolt, 2 Nm

• Quantity. 4

4 Selector mechanism

5 Shift lock solenoid (N110)

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ] Shift Lock Solenoid.

6 Noise insulation

• Not installed on all vehicles

7 Lock washers

• Quantity. 4, always replace.

• For securing sound insulation on the selector mechanism.

8 Retaining clip

• Secures the selector lever cable on the selector mechanism.

9 Selector lever cable

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable ] Selector Lever Cable.

• Adjusting, refer to => [ Selector Lever Cable Adjusting ] Adjustments.

10 O-ring

• Always replace.
