Shift Mechanism through MY 2008 Assembly Overview

• Grease bearing areas and slide surfaces with Grease (G 000 450 02).






1 Base plate

• Bend open tabs to remove

• Replace

2 Gasket

• Replace if damaged

3 Selector lever

4 O-ring

• Replace if damaged

5 Retaining clip

6 Selector cable

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Cable and Selector Cable ]

• Adjusting, refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ]

7 Shift cable

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Cable and Selector Cable ]

• Adjusting, refer to => [ Shift Mechanism, Adjusting ]

8 Retaining washer

9 Guide

• For spring => [ (Item 26) Spring ]

10 Bearing shell with damper

11 Cover plate

12 Bushing

14 Spring

16 Bolt, 6 Nm

19 Shift lever guide

20 Nut - 10 Nm

• Between shift housing and floor

• Self-adhesive

• Press onto selector housing

26 Spring

• Installing, refer to => [ Installing Spring ]

27 Bolt, 5 Nm

28 Selector bracket

Removing and Installing Lock Washer





- Hold shift lever - 2 - in position.

- Press spacer bushing - 3 - in direction of - arrow -.

- Remove the circlip - 1 -.

Installing Spring





- Insert the leg - A - of the spring into the guide - 1 - from above.

- Pull the leg - B - of the spring downward and lay it into the guide from below.

• To improve clarity, the selector bracket is removed.
