Crankshaft Gear/Sprocket: Service and Repair
Chain Sprocket
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Press tube 30-100
^ Thrust piece 40-105
^ Two-arm puller, commercially available
^ Protective gloves
Removing
- Remove oil pan with oil pump
- Remove front sealing flange
- Pull off crankshaft chain sprocket with claw puller -2- e.g. Kukko 44-1, while protecting end of crankshaft with special tool 40-105.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
CAUTION: Wear protective gloves!
- Heat up chain sprocket in an oven for approximately 15 minutes at 220 degree C.
Note: Installation position: Wider shoulder of chain sprocket faces toward engine.
- Using pliers, install chain sprocket on crankshaft end and slide onto crankshaft to stop using press tube 30-100.
- Install oil pan with oil pump
