Cylinder Block



Cylinder bore





Using an internal dial gauge 50 to 100 mm, measure at 3 points in diagonal sequence horizontally - A - and vertically - B -.
^ Maximum deviation from nominal dimension 0.08 mm

Crankshaft dimensions





Crankshaft main bearing





Replace bolts - 1 to 24 -.
Tighten bolts for guide frame as follows:
Tighten bolts - 1 to 12 - 30 Nm with torque wrench.
Tighten bolts - 13 to 24 - 20 Nm with torque wrench.
Tighten bolts - 1 to 12 - 50 Nm with torque wrench.
Tighten bolts - 13 to 24 - 30 Nm with torque wrench.
Tighten bolts - 1 to 12 - 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.
Tighten bolts- 13 to 24 - 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.
Tighten cylinder block/guide frame bolts - dark shaded - diagonally 9 Nm

Connecting rod
Tighten bolt 60 Nm plus an additional 90° (1/4 turn)

Axial play for each new connecting rod pair 0.20 to 0.38 mm

Radial clearance
New 0.020 to 0.069 mm
Wear limit 0.120 mm

Piston ring side clearance








Vibration damper





Tighten vibration damper bolts - arrow - diagonally in 3 stages.
Using torque wrench, tighten 15 Nm
Using torque wrench, tighten 22 Nm
-With Torx key, 90° (1/4 turn) additional turn.
