Exterior door handle sticks in the open position after
door is opened.

Technical Background

Friction between the lock cylinder trim and the door handle.

Production Solution

Improved return springs and modification of slide piece.

Service

Remove the affected door handle and modify as described below:





1. Modify the white slider piece on the lock carrier (Figure 2).

Using a small hand file, shorten the white plastic piece (contact area/2 lugs) by 0.5 mm.

2. Reinstall the door handle.

3. Verify proper door handle operation.
