Visual Check

Visual Check

WARNING!
Battery plugs must always be threaded in so they seal properly for charging, voltage measurement and load measurement.

A visual check of the battery should be performed before performing measurements such as resting voltage, electrolyte density or battery load check.

This inspection is intended to determine:
- Whether the battery casing is damaged. Damage to the casing can allow acid to escape from the battery.
- Whether the battery terminals (battery cable connections) are damaged. Because of a damaged battery terminal, contact of the wiring connections is not ensured. This can cause a cable fire and interfere with the function of the electrical system.
