Airbag Adapter VAS 6036, Connecting

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Airbag Adapter VAS 6036







- Diagnostic Operating System VAS 5051 A


CAUTION:
- Technician must be grounded before disconnecting ignition and Ground (GND) wiring; touch door striker or chassis.
- Airbag adapter VAS 6036 must remain connected to seat until seat is installed again.







1. Connector side airbag, on seat side (orange)
2. Connector side airbag, on adapter side (orange)
- Disconnect igniter and Ground (GND) wire.
- Connect connector side airbag - 2 - on adapter side to connector side airbag - 1 - on seat side.

3. Connector voltage supply, adapter side (red)
4. Connector voltage supply, seat side (red)

Disconnect connector for side airbag







- Press catch - 3 - on connector for side airbag - 2 - from counterpart - 1 - and disconnect it.
- Observe safety precautions after connecting battery.

NOTE: If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) K75 signals a malfunction after installation, DTC memory must be checked, erased and once again checked using Diagnostic Operating System VAS 5051 A.
