Tunnel Crossmember

Tunnel crossmember, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A:

^ Torque wrench V.A.G 1331
^ Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

Removing
- Remove sound insulation.





- Remove nuts with washers - arrows -.
- Support transmission using engine/transmission jack V.A.G 1383 A, using a suitable block of wood.





- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 -.
- Remove tunnel crossmember.

Installing





- Tighten combi bolt - 1 - to 115 Nm plus an additional 90° 1/4 turn.
Use new washer and new bolt.
- Tighten combi bolt - 2 - to 65 Nm.





- Tighten combi nuts - arrows - to 23 Nm.
- Install sound insulation.
