Crossmember, removing and installing

Note:
^ The crossmember is only installed in certain vehicles. It is located at front cross panel within plenum chamber.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

Removing





- Detach plenum chamber cover rubber seal in direction of - arrow -.
- Remove plenum chamber cover - 1 - forward.





- Remove combi bolts - 2 - and - 4 -.

- Lift crossmember - 1 - out of plenum chamber - 5 -.
3 - Left mounting bracket, welded to body
6 - Right mounting bracket, welded to body
- Arrow - faces in direction of travel.

Installing
Installation is carried out in reverse sequence.
Tightening torques for combi bolts: 25 Nm
