Threaded Shaft For Wind Deflector, Removing And Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required







- Assembly stand for Roadster convertible top with securing plates for wind deflector VAS 5219
- Transmission lifter VAS 1383 A
- Remove front convertible top compartment trim.
- Remove wind deflector.
- Position assembly stand VAS5219 on transmission lifter VAS 1383A.
- Thread wind deflector to transverse arm of assembly stand VAS5219.
- Remove motor.
- Remove rear wind deflector cover.







- Remove toothed belt - 6 - from splines - 5 -.
- Use screwdriver to pry out bearing - 2 - (2x).

NOTE: Bearing hole at lower bearing - 2 - is different on left and right.

- The threaded shaft - 1 - for the left (with additional bearing - 2 - for the right) is delivered as a replacement part. For the right threaded shaft - 1 -, remove the cotter pin - 3 - and replace the lower bearing - 2 -. For the right threaded shaft, the cotter pin is not installed.
