Undamaged Rear Window, Removing

- Remove tailgate lid trim.
- Remove rear wiper.






- Open tailgate and using handle - 1 -, insert needle under sealing lip and through adhesive bead.
- Remove handle and thread cutting cord into needle eye.
- Pull one end of cutting cord inward using pliers and gloves.
- Using plastic wedge, loosen sealing lip from glass flange and spray with cleaning solution.

- Using pulling tube, place second cutting cord around glass.







- Using needle and handle, pull second cutting cord end - B - inward as shown.
- Thread cutting end - A - in VAG1654 spooling tool and fasten.







- Fasten cutting cord end - B - to lid hinge.







- Fasten VAG1654 spooling tool as shown to rear window.
- Press cutting cord in direction of arrow while side area is being cut into.
- Cut glass free from below.







- Remove spooling tool and cut out glass







- Press cutting cord in direction of arrow while lower area is being cut into.
- Cut glass out at side area.
- Remove spooling tool and cut out glass







- Press cutting cord in direction of arrow while side area is being cut into.
- Cut glass from above.
- Remove spooling tool and cut out glass
- Press cutting cord in direction of arrow while upper area is being cut into.
- Cut glass completely free and remove using VAG1344 double suction cups.
