Seal for shift rod, replacing
Special tools and equipment





^ 3385 sealing ring installer





^ 80-200 pry lever

Removing
^ Remove left transmission support.
^ Remove multi-function Transmission Range (TR) switch -F125-.





^ Pry off selector lever cable from lever/shift rod (arrow).





^ Drive out tensioning pin -1- at transmission selector lever -2- in driving direction (arrow) until the transmission shift lever can be pulled off the shift rod.





^ Push small screwdriver though seal and pull out seal.

Installing
^ Coat outer circumference and area between sealing lips with ATF.
^ Installation position: Open side of seal points toward transmission.





^ Slide new seal onto 3385 sealing ring installer and drive in to stop of 3385, and make sure not to cant seal while doing so.
^ Install multi-function Transmission Range (TR) switch -F1 25-.
^ Drive out tensioning pin in opposite direction via the lever while transmission shift lever is still removed.
^ Slide transmission shift lever onto the shift rod and drive in tensioning pin.
