Oil Filter: Service and Repair



Engine oil, draining and replacing oil filter

Note: If the engine oil is drained and not siphoned out (using an oil suction device), replace the sealing ring for the oil drain plug to prevent leaks.

- Remove noise insulation panel to drain engine oil at drain plug.

Tightening torque of oil drain plug: 30 Nm (22 ft lb)

- Replace oil filter .
- Top off engine oil.
- Check engine oil level.
- Repeat check of engine oil level.

Note: RS6 requires removal of front stabilizer bar mounting bolts to subframe for access to remove filter

WARNING! Always dispose of used engine oil properly.



- Loosen and remove oil filter - arrow - using oil filter wrench.
- Clean sealing surface on engine (filter flange).
- Lightly lubricate rubber seal on new oil filter.
- Thread on new filter and tighten by hand.
