Roof Frame Trim, Removing (From Calendar Week 36.02)

WARNING: Observe safety precautions for working on airbags and head-level airbags.







1 - Roof frame trim

- Removing
- Remove D-pillar trim.
- Remove attachment eyelets for separation grille at roof frame trim.
- Remove upper B-pillar trim.
- Remove front and rear grab handles.
- Loosen upper A-pillar trim.







- Pull out roof frame trim under A-pillar trim panel.
- Remove screws - 4 - (1x).
- Pull roof frame trim - 1 - out of rubber door seal.
- Pull out roof frame trim - 1 - under upper C-pillar trim panel.
- Carefully remove roof frame trim - 1 -.

WARNING: Always follow installation sequence for roof frame trim

- Installing
- Carefully insert roof frame trim - 1 - under upper C-pillar trim panel.







- Install attachment eyelets for separation grille at roof frame trim.
- Insert roof frame trim with catch strap under A-pillar trim panel.
- Thread in bolt at separating point to roof frame trim with catch strap.
- Install screw - 4 - with catch strap - 5 -.
- Insert retaining tab of D-pillar trim - 6 - through the opening on catch strap - 5 - into roof frame trim - 1 -.
- Rest of installation is reverse order of removal

- After assembling trim, make sure seal is properly fitted

2 - Roof grab handle







3 - Screw
- Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm
4 - Screw
- Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm

- Self-locking
- Always replace
- Always clean threaded holes for screws (e.g. using a thread cutter)
- For loose (threaded) inserts, tighten inserts using pliers.
5 - Catch strap
- With opening for retaining tab of D-pillar trim panel - 6 -.
