Headliner, Removing And Installing







1 - Headliner

- Removal:
- Remove right and left sun visor.
- Remove sun visor center holder - 7 -.
- Unclip cover cap - 8 -.
- Remove two clips and disengage expanding clip underneath.
- Remove visor center bracket.
- Remove upper left and right A-pillar trim.
- Remove upper B-pillar trim.
- Remove roof end strip.
- Remove D-pillar trim on left and right.
- Remove rear interior reading light - 6 -.
- If present, open sunroof.
- Remove slide/tilt sunroof cover frame - 2 -.
- Remove left and right lighting for make-up mirror.
- Remove front interior reading light - 5 -.
- Unclip cover on rearview mirror boot and disconnect electrical harness connector to rearview mirror.
- Place shifter or selector lever in front position.
- Position passenger seat backrest as far back as possible.
- Position drivers seat backrest as far back as possible.
A second technician is needed to support the molded headliner.
- Loosen rear clip - 3 - on molded headliner.
- For vehicles with sunroof, remove front bolt - 4 - on molded headliner.
- To remove cable on molded headliner, exit vehicle and carefully lower headliner onto seat.
- If necessary, disconnect wiring harness from A-pillar.
- Disconnect wiring harness from molded headliner.
- Remove molded headliner through a rear door.

- Installing:
- Carefully slide molded headliner in through a rear door.
- Attach wiring harness at molded headliner.

NOTE: Follow sequence when installing because otherwise the roof trim can no longer be centered.

- Clip in visor bracket.
- Clip in slide/tilt sunroof cover frame - 2 -.
- If installed, tighten bolt - 4 - to sunroof.
- Clip in rear molded headliner at clip - 3 -.
Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

7 - Sun visor center bearing
8 - Cover cap







Disconnect electrical connectors
- Unclip trim on mirror boot and disconnect electrical harness connector - arrow -.
