Charge air system with turbocharger, testing

Note:
^ Observe rules for cleanliness go to Page 21-49.
^ Hose unions and hoses for charge air system must be free of oil and grease before installing. Do not use lubricant under any circumstances.
^ Secure all hose connections with correct hose clamps (same as original equipment) See parts catalog.
^ Before carrying out tests or repair work, make sure that all lines and hoses are securely connected and that there are no leaks.

Safety precautions
Note following points if test equipment has to be used during a road test:

WARNING:
^ Test equipment must always be secured on rear seat and operated from rear seat by a second person.
^ If test equipment is operated from front passenger seat, occupant could be injured by passenger's airbag in an accident.


Charge pressure control with multiple turbochargers, function
Turbochargers of 8-cylinder bi-turbo engine are controlled by pressure. Wastegate Bypass Regulator Valve -N75- controls both turbochargers at the same time.
Intake air mass however is registered separately for each turbochargers, so that it is possible to diagnose status of each turbocharger individually.
