Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair

Handbrake cable, removing and installing





^ Remove switch panel together with storage tray - 1 -.
^ Remove rear cover panel - 2 - on center console.





^ Loosen adjusting nut - arrow- until the Hand brake cable can be unhooked from the compensator.
^ Raise vehicle.





^ Remove clip - 1 - .
^ Press brake lever- 2 - in direction of arrow and unhook brake cable - 3 - .





^ Unclip Hand brake cable from retainer on rear axle - arrow A - and unhook from retainers - arrows - .





^ Pull Hand brake cable out from guide tube - 1 - in direction of arrow.

Installing
^ Slide Hand brake cable into guide tube.





^ Press brake lever- 2 - in direction of arrow and attach Hand brake cable.
^ Install clip- 1 -.





^ Clip Hand brake cable into retainer on rear axle - arrow A -.
^ Handbrake cable clamping ring must lie in the middle of the clip.
^ Hook Hand brake cable into retainers - arrows -.
^ Hook Hand brake cable into compensator





^ Pre - tension Hand brake cable with adjusting nut - arrow -.
^ Adjust Hand brake, Refer to Park Brake System, Adjusting.





^ Install switch panel together with storage tray - 1 -.
^ Install rear cover panel - 2 - on center console.
