Rear Window (Sedan), Installing
Assembly overview
NOTE:
- When installing new window, clean and prime glass as described in section on installing windshield.
- When installing undamaged, used window, apply adhesive directly to freshly cut residual bead.
1 - Rear window
2 - Cover
- Markings on gap cover (arrow) must align smoothly with window edge
3 - Spacer
- Install at side in cover before installing window
4 - Spacer
- Glue on spacer at center of lower window edge and at center of left and right window edge.
- Spacing dimension - a - = 30 mm to window edge
5 - Adhesive bead
- Note varying spacing dimensions to window edge
6 - Adhesive stopper guide
- For windows without guide, it must be glued on next to vertical rear window defroster strips Fig. 1.

- Glue on adhesive stopper guide - 2 - at distance - a - = 15 mm from rear window edge - 1 -.
CAUTION: Contact between primer/adhesive bead and wiring for rear window defrost must be avoided during primer application. For new replacement windows, an adhesive stopper guide is attached next to the wiring for this reason.
NOTE: Do not touch up primer strip until after primer has thoroughly dried.
- Allow primer to air dry for approx. 10 minutes.

CAUTION: Note various spacing dimensions of adhesive bead to window edge.

- Dimension - a - = 8 mm
- Dimension - b - = 12 mm
- Dimension - c - at upper window edge and at side window edges = 8 mm
- Dimension - c - at lower window edge = 13 mm
NOTE: If adhesive sealing material leaks out at lower window edge during installation, it must be removed immediately.
