Code Control Module (Scan Tool Function 07)
Instrument cluster
Function 07 is used to code the instrument cluster with the following information:
- Optional equipment
- Market and language versions
- Number of cylinders
- Engine versions
NOTE:
- Coding sets the On Board Diagnostics (OBD) language for the Auto Check and driver information systems according to the market/model version, number of cylinders and engine version.
- The code table lists combinations applicable to the Audi A6 only.
Initiating instrument cluster coding
- Press buttons -0- and -7- to select "Code Control Module" function 07.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

NOTE:
- The coding can be modified to allow for various combinations of optional equipment, depending on what is installed on the vehicle.
- If the vehicle is equipped with more than one item of optional equipment which needs to be coded, the overall coding will be the total of the individual coding numbers.
Examples:
Seat belt warning active (02) and washer fluid warning system active (04):
- 02 + 04 = 06
Brake pad wear indicator active (01), seat belt warning system active (02) and washer fluid warning system active (04):
- 01 + 02 + 04 = 07
