Front Exhaust Pipe With Catalytic Converter, Removing And Installing (right Side)


NOTE: Always replace seals, gaskets and self locking nuts.


Removing







- Remove engine cover panel -arrows-.







- Remove air intake duct -arrows- between air cleaner and throttle valve unit.







- Disconnect connector -1- for oxygen sensor after Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) and move wiring aside.
- Disconnect connector -3- for oxygen sensor and move wiring aside.
- From above, remove bolt between exhaust pipe and exhaust manifold.
- Remove right front road wheel.







- From below, remove bolts -arrows- between exhaust pipe and exhaust manifold.







- Remove exhaust pipe at retainer -arrow-.







- Loosen double clamp -2- and push it forward
- Carefully remove exhaust pipe with catalytic converter.


CAUTION!
DO NOT bend swivel joint of exhaust pipe by more than 10° to prevent damage.



Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal but note the following:

- Align exhaust system to relieve stress.

Tightening torques

Components Nm/ft lb
Front exhaust pipe and catalytic
converter to retainer bracket 25/18

Front exhaust pipe and catalytic
converter to exhaust manifold 25/18

Front right wheel 120/88
