Selector Mechanism (Except Tiptronic)



Ignition Key Withdrawal Lock, Checking

- Turn ignition lock to "On" position:
- It must be possible to shift out of "P" without catching when a force of not more than 25 N (5.6 lb) is applied (to the button of the gearshift).
- It must not be possible to withdraw the ignition key unless the selector lever is in position "P".
- Move selector lever into position "P":
- It must be possible to turn the ignition lock into the withdrawal position without it sticking.
- Turn ignition lock into withdrawal position.
- When the button (on the gearshift lever) is pressed, it must not be possible to shift the selector lever out of position "P".
