Torque Converter Seal

The special tools are required for this work:
^ VW 681 removing lever
^ 3295 thrust piece
^ Attach transmission to repair stand, or place on flat surface.





^ Remove torque converter seal using VW 681 lever.

Notes:
^ Position VW 681 lever immediately behind the sealing lip of the seal so that the thrust ring is not damaged.

^ Replace thrust ring if damaged.





^ Drive torque converter seal in to stop using thrust piece 3295.

Notes:
^ The open side of the seal faces the transmission.
^ Apply a thin coat of Vaseline to the sealing lips of the seal.
