Water Pump: Service and Repair






NOTES:
^ Always replace seals and gaskets.
^ Checking coolant Fan Control (FC) thermal switch, refer to Testing and Inspection
^ The thermostat can be replaced without removing the camshaft drive belt.
^ An oil cooler, mounted between the oil filter and the oil filter bracket, is part of coolant system. Additional information, refer to Engine.

1 Thermostat
- Replacing, refer to Replacement. Thermostat
- Opening temperature, refer to Replacement. Thermostat
2 Seal
- Always replace
3 Thermostat housing
4 Bolt
- Tighten to: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
5 Gasket
- Always replace
6 Coolant pump
- To remove, first remove ribbed belt and toothed camshaft drive belt, refer to Engine.
7 Bolt
- Tighten to: 10 Nm 17 ft. lbs.)
