SAE VAG Description
P1750 18158 Power Supply Voltage Low Voltage

J217 - Transmission Control Module (TCM)

- Electrical testing Transmission 01V Electrical Testing
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) wire from Transmission Control Module (TCM) checking MIL Wire From Transmission Control Module, Checking
- Read Measuring Value Block (scan tool function 08) Scan Tool Testing
- Wiring between transmission and 88-pin connector for Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J217-, testing Testing Wiring Connection Between 88-Pin TCM and Transmission

Note: Requirement for malfunction recognition: battery voltage smaller than 9 volts, transmission does not shift into emergency running mode. When vehicle voltage (terminal 30) fails, application values are lost, i.e. Transmission Control Module (TCM) must learn these values again when vehicle is started. During this renewed "learning", shifting quality may be lower than normal.

Note: First check harness connectors for contact corrosion and water ingress, replace if necessary. If there are malfunctions indicated for solenoid valve, pay particular attention to the 16-pin harness connector at transmission between valve body and cable harness.

Note: Check wires and harness connectors according to wiring diagram. Check voltage supply to TCM.
