1) One of these malfunction types is indicated on VAG 1551 in addition to the affected component.

NOTE:
- The malfunction recognition of DTC code 00518 from the transmission control module is essentially sharper than that of the engine control module. This means that a short term malfunction (up to 1 second) of the throttle signal from the engine control module will not be recognized by the transmission control module, but diagnosed by the transmission control module as a malfunction.
- Condition of the malfunctirecognitionton: Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- OK- Consumption signal or thorttle signal OK, recognized value for transmission RPM over 200 RPM and 200 ms no engine Engine RPM signal to transmission control module available.
