Engine Basic Setting
(VAG 1551 function 04)

When "Basic Setting" function 04 is initiated, the ECM establishes the following conditions:

^ Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on instrument panel will light up continuously

^ The EVAP canister purge regulator valve remains in the closed position

^ Values can be displayed either by display group 00 showing 10 values or with display group 01 showing 4 values.

^ When in display group 01 showing 4 values, the physical parameters of engine speed (RPM) and temperature will also be displayed.
