Manual Transmission 01A: Overview

- Observe sequence of operations at "Replacement".

WARNING!
- Do not bend driveshaft.
- Store and transport only with driveshaft fully extended.
- Work on the driveshaft should be carried out only on a two-column lifting platform.

Notes:
- Refer to "General Repair Instructions".
- No repair work except removal, installation and adjusting operations can be performed on the driveshaft assembly.
- Universal joints and bearings cannot be replaced with workshop tools. Front and rear sections of the driveshaft cannot be replaced separately because they would then have to be re-balanced, and this is not possible with workshop tools and equipment.
- For this reason, only procedures for removing, installing and adjusting the driveshaft are described here.
- When dealing with malfunctions (noise, vibration) it is essential to check whether precisely adjusting the driveshaft will correct the problem before replacing the driveshaft.
