Low Pressure Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

A/C Refrigerant Low Pressure Switch:

The A/C Refrigerant Low Pressure Switch (-F73-) controls evaporator temperature by cycling the compressor clutch on and off. The A/C Low Pressure Switch is also used to protect the compressor when refrigerant pressure drops too low. This switches the A/C compressor clutch OFF when A/C refrigerant is too low. The switch opens approximately 14.5 PSI (1 bar). A/C refrigerant system does not need to be discharged to remove or install this component.

- Switch opens: 0.8 bar - 1.1 bar (11.6 psi - 15.9 psi) .
- Switch closes: 2.3 bar - 2.9 bar (33.3 psi - 42.0 psi).
