Rear spoiler, removing
Work procedure
- remove wiper arm (not shown)
- lift rear lid
- remove plastic trim cover for wiper mechanism
- remove countersunk screws
- tilt spoiler upward (arrow)
- with knife, cut through adhesive gasket material and remove spoiler
Rear spoiler, installing
Work sequence
Note
If spoiler is to be reused:
^ remove as much of old gasket material as possible
^ replace double sided adhesive tape if necessary
- apply adhesive gasket material D 009 100 03 AMV 176 000 05 or equivalent into adhesive gasket channel
^ length approx. 20 mm (.79 in.), maximum height 8 mm (.32 in.)
- remove protective backing from double sided adhesive tape (arrows)
Note
Center portion of spoiler must press with tension against center portion of glass. If not, spoiler must be secured in position with fabric reinforced tape for approximately six hours to ensure proper adhesion to glass
- reinstall plastic trim cover for wiper mechanism
- reinstall wiper arm
- clean excess adhesive from glass with solvent D 00 9 400 01 or equivalent
