Low Pressure Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation

Purpose and Operation
If the refrigerant charge is too low, the compressor will be damaged if it is operated. The low pressure switch will open and interrupt power supply to the compressor if low side pressure falls below about 1 bar (15 PSI). The terminals on the low pressure switch should be bridged when testing or charging the refrigerant system.
